Gretchen and Roy Jackson have donated $200,000 to the Belmont Child Care Association, it was announced Dec. 23.

Of the total donation, $150,000 is for the Lael Stable fund, earnings from which are to be used to provide early childhood education for the children of the backstretch workers at Belmont and Aqueduct racetracks at Anna House, the on-site center at Belmont Park. The other $50,000 is for the general fund to be used as needed, according to a news release. The Jacksons, who campaigned popular racing star Barbaro, started the fund in December 2006, and in 2007 donated $250,000 to the charity.

The Belmont Child Care Association is a not-for-profit-corporation established in December 1998 to create an on-site child care center, Anna House, at Belmont Park for the working families of New York racing.
