The 7th annual John Franks Memorial sale of 2-year-olds in training will be held at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Louisiana March 22, 2009. An under tack show is scheduled for the previous day.

The auction once again will offer a pair of $100,000 races restricted to 2-year-olds that pass through its sale ring. The races – one for colts and geldings and the other restricted to fillies – will be run at Evangeline Downs in August of 2009.

Stemmans, a company owned by Louisiana horseman Don Stemmans, will conduct the sale and oversee the under tack show.

The entry fee for the auction is $350, and there will be a 5% commission ($200 minimum). The entry deadline is Jan 12, 2009. The fee for late entries is $500.
