Calder Adds Marshall to Executive Team

John T. Marshall has been named vice president and general manager of racing for Calder Race Course, Churchill Downs Inc. announced Dec. 19. He will report to Calder president and general manager Tom O’Donnell and begins his new role effective Jan. 19, 2009.
 
Marshall joins CDI from The Meadows Racetrack in Pennsylvania, where he previously served as vice president and general manager. His responsibilities at The Meadows also included tenures as assistant general manager, and as human resources manager for both the track and its four associated off-track betting facilities.
 
“This is a dynamic time for Calder, and I’m eager to work with the talented staff there to take advantage of the many opportunities we have to hone and improve our racing product,” Marshall said in a news release.
 
Marshall holds a master’s degree from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Penn., and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
