Fire Slam to Elite in Louisiana

Fire Slam, a grade II-winning sprinter, will stand in 2009 at Elite Thoroughbreds near Folsom, La. His fee is $2,500.

As a 3-year-old, Fire Slam was a stakes winner at four different distances. He won the Riva Ridge Breeders Cup Stakes (gr. II) in 1:20.94 for seven furlongs at Belmont Park and the mile LeComte Stakes (gr. III) at Fair Grounds. He also took the Matt Winn Stakes at six furlongs in 1:09.64 at Churchill Downs and the Don Bernhardt Stakes in 1:16.91 at 6 ½ furlongs at Ellis Park.
 

By Grand Slam, 7-year-old Fire Slam is out of the Salt Lakemare Miss Firefly, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Ragged Kingdom. Fire Slam is scheduled to arrive at Elite Thoroughbreds  Dec. 22. He formerly stood at Vinery near Summerfield, Fla.
