Major sire Gone West, who stands at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington, will stand in 2009 for $65,000 instead of the previously announced $85,000.

“We are sensitive to the market demands and have decided to reduce Gone West’s 2009 fee to $65,000 payable when foal stands and nurses,” said Headley Bell, Mill Ridge managing partner. “The contracts already issued will be adjusted accordingly.”

Gone West, a 24-year-old son of Mr. Prospector out of the Secretariat mare Secrettame, is represented by the earners of $4.7 million this year.
