Innit Wins Honeymoon Invitational Handicap

Jockey Chris McCarron earned a belated stakes win at Hollywood Park Sunday, winning aboard Innit in the $217,000 Honeymoon Breeders' Cup Invitational Handicap (gr. IIT) four races after his mount was disqualified from victory in the Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I).Innit trailed the nine-horse field while Blushing Ballerina set sluggish early fractions of :49.04 and 1:12.75. McCarron moved closer while saving ground and split horses before catching Live Your Dreams in deep stretch. Innit completed the 1 1/4 miles in 2:01.28 on firm turf, finishing a neck ahead of Live Your Dreams. Beefeater Baby, Karla June, Dynamous, Blushing Ballerina, O K to Dance, Golden Sparrow, and Allright Now completed the order of finish in the race for of 3-year-old fillies.The win marks the first of the year for Innit, who won multiple stakes races in Europe as a juvenile, including the Premio Dormello (Ity-III). After finishing third in Serena's Tune's La Habra Stakes in March, Innit finished second in both the Senorita (gr. IIIT) and Flawlessly Stakes. She earned $120,000 for the win, her sixth in 19 starts. Innit (Distinctly North--Tidal Reach, by Kris S.) was bred in Ireland by Philip De Vere Hunt and is trained by Ron McAnally for owner Richard L. Duchossois.The lukewarm favorite at just under 3-1, Innit returned $7.80, $4.60, and $3 and led a $1 exacta worth $23.20. (Chart, Equibase)
