(Edited press release)
A grassroots coalition of horseplayers is calling for an end to disputes involving Internet and telephone wagering, and is asking for the formation of a task force to help settle the differences.
The Horseplayers Association of North America, which estimates its membership at close to 400, in a Nov. 24 press release, proposed the development of an “Internet Wagering Task Force.”
In the release, HANA said it “believes that the Internet medium is not being handled in a proper way to maximize its reach and revenue capabilities for the 21st century, and it is about time we met the challenge head-on with a long-term action plan.”
The group lauded the recent compromise allowing the Hollywood Park signal to go out to most advance deposit wagering entities, and called for similar one-year agreements to be implemented in states such as Florida, Kentucky, and Ohio.
