Grade I winner Skimming will relocate to Pacific Stud near Langley, British Columbia, Canada, for the 2009 breeding season. His fee is $4,000 (Canadian funds).
Skimming, who won consecutive runnings of the Pacific Classic Stakes (gr. I), has sired the career earners of $2.5 million. His 2008 progeny earnings of $1.35 million will make him the leading third-crop sire in all of Canada.
Skimming has sired 10 stakes horses. His seven stakes winners include grade I winner Johnny Eves, who won the Nov. 22 Vernon O. Underwood Stakes (gr. III) at Hollywood Park. Last December, Johnny Eves took the Malibu Stakes (gr. I).
Twelve-year-old Skimming (Nureyev--Skimble, by Lyphard) and another Pacific Stud stallion, Joey Franco, will be part of a unique breeding package offered by Pacific Stud. Breeders signing a contract by Jan. 9 will be offered a chance to obtain four nominations to any combination of either stallion for the price of less than three. Joey Franco will stand for $3,000 in 2009.
Skimming formerly stood at Cardiff Stud Farms near Atascadero, Calif.
