Churchill to Host Thanksgiving Charity

Churchill Downs will host The Lord’s Kitchen family food box give away in the paddock pavilion Nov. 25.

The Lord’s Kitchen plans on distributing food boxes to more than 600 families in the Louisville community who have registered to receive assistance for Thanksgiving. The packages will include a turkey or a ham, canned goods, and non-perishables items for a family a four.

Employees of Churchill Downs have donated food items, as well as their time, to help with the assembly and distribution of the food boxes to the needy families. The racetrack has donated 100 turkeys for the event.
 
Food boxes will be available for senior citizens and disabled persons from noon to 1 p.m., and for all other individuals and families from 1 to 3 p.m. EST Nov. 25.
