Wiseman's Ferry

Wiseman’s Ferry, a two-time graded stakes winner, will stand in 2009 at Gayle Gerth’s Dana Point Farm near Lenhartsville, Pa. His fee is $3,000.

A 9-year-old son of Hennessy, Wiseman’s Ferry is the sire of four stakes horses, including 2008 added-money winners Fort Drum and Kick On. The latter, a 2-year-old colt, has won two stakes and earned $210,536. A second-crop sire, Wiseman’s Ferry has sired 39 winners and the earners of $1.4 million.

Wiseman’s Ferry is bred similarly to successful stallion Bernstein, a son of Storm Cat. Wiseman’s Ferry is a grandson of Storm Cat and his dam, Emmaus (by Silver Deputy), is a half-sister to Bernstein. Emmaus also is a half-sister to the graded stakes-winning dam of promising young sire Sky Mesa  .

Wiseman’s Ferry stood at Castleton Lyons near Lexington in 2008.
