The Cliff's Edge  , one of this year’s successful first-crop sires, will stand in 2009 at Margaux Farm near Midway, Ky. The 7-year-old son of Gulch will stand for $7,500.

The Cliff’s Edge, who raced 13 times and won or placed in 10 stakes, is represented by stakes-placed runners I Come From Behind and The Cliff’s End, plus Breeders’ Cup contestant Dave’s Revenge, who ran fourth in the Bessemer Trust Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). The Cliff’s Edge has sired 11 winners and the earners of $425,000.

A graded stakes winner at 2 and 3, The Cliff’s Edge scored his big win in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) and placed in the Travers Stakes (gr. I), Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I), and Florida Derby (gr. I). He earned $1,265,258.

The Cliff’s Edge, out of the Danzig mare Zigember, stood in 2008 for $10,000 at Vinery near Lexington.

Margaux is owned by Steve Johnson, Dr. Ira Mersack, and Dr. Joe Fowler.
