Bernstein, fourth on this year’s sires of 2-year-olds list, will stand at Castleton Lyons near Lexington for $27,500, up from $20,000 for 2008.
“Bernstein has had a sensational first crop of Castleton Lyons conceived 2-year-olds, highlighted by three graded winners, including grade I winner and Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) runner-up Dream Empress,” said Shane Ryan, president of Castleton Lyons. “We are conscious of the present difficult economic conditions that our industry has to contend with and have adjusted Bernstein’s fee to a very realistic and commercial figure which offers breeders value for money.”
Following are the fees for all the Castleton Lyons stallions:
Bernstein $27,500
Toccet $7,500
Sir Shackleton$5,000
