The 2009 stud fees for Brereton Jones’ Airdrie Stud were announced Nov. 7, including the fees for their two newest stallions, Divine Park and Brother Derek, who will stand for $17,500 and $10,000, respectively.

Fees for most of the Midway, Ky., farm’s stallions have been reduced for 2009, mostly because of the current challenging economic times. Jones acknowledged that fact.
“We at Airdrie Stud recognize the difficulty of challenging financial markets,” Jones said in a release. “We particularly recognize the difficulty for those who primarily breed to stallions below the $25,000 level. Therefore, we have lowered our stud fees on all of our stallions in this group regardless of their popularity.”
A son of Chester House, Divine Park won this year’s running of the Met Mile and earned $612,935 from nine starts. Brother Derek is a multiple grade I winner by Benchmark.
Airdrie’s top-priced stallion for 2009 will again be Indian Charlie (by In Excess), who will stand for $75,000, up from $50,000 in 2008. Harlan's Holiday (by Harlan), whose fee was private in 2008, and Proud Citizen   (by Gone West), who stood for $25,000 last year, will both stand for $30,000.
