A.P. Indy, who shared top billing with Storm Cat and Distorted Humor   with a $300,000 stud fee in 2008, now has the top all to himself in 2009 at that price. Seventh on this year’s leading sires list by progeny earnings, A.P. Indy stands at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Ky.

Lane’s End is represented by four other sires among the top 14 stallions on this year’s leading sires list. The leader, Smart Strike  , who finished atop the 2007 sires list, will remain at $150,000, and Kingmambo, who ranks fourth, will stand once again for $250,000. Kingmambo’s son, Lemon Drop Kid  , who ranks 12th by progeny earnings, will hold court for $50,000, up from $35,000. No. 14 is Langfuhr  , who will stand for the same $25,000 fee he stood for last year.

Lane’s End will keep After Market at $30,000 and Gulch at $20,000.
