Tapit, whose daughter Stardom Bound won the Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I), will stand in 2009 for a fee of $35,000, up from $12,500 in 2008. Tapit, who ranks atop the first-year and sires of 2-year-olds lists by progeny earnings, stands at the Beck family’s Gainesway Farm near Lexington.
Gainesway dropped fees for several stallions, including the one for Mr. Greeley, who went from $125,000 to $100,000.
