Gaff to Journeyman Stud

Gaff won the Aegon Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs.

Gaff, a multiple graded stakes winner, has been retired from racing for stallion duty at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud near Ocala, Fla. A fee will be announced later.
 

Campaigned by Heiligbrodt Racing Stable, Gaff (Maria’s Mon--Ionlyhaveeyesforu, by Tunerup) recorded five double-digit Beyer Speed Figures, including a 111 Beyer in winning the Mr. Prospector Handicap (gr. III) in track-record time of 1:08.50 at Gulfstream Park. He also registered a 106 Beyer in winning the 5 1/2-furlong Bonapaw Stakes at Fair Grounds and a 102 in capturing the Aegon Turf Sprint Stakes (gr. IIIT) at five furlongs at Churchill Downs.

Gaff, who also was a stakes winner and group III-placed in Ireland, won or placed in 14 of 23 starts and earned $569,513. He won or placed in 10 stakes on both continents.
