Ancient Title winner Cost of Freedom has been scratched from the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

Cost of Freedom, one of the morning-line favorites for the Oct. 25 Sentient Group Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I) was scratched the morning of the race on the advice of the Santa Anita track veterinarian.


According to a Breeders’ Cup racing official, the 5-year-old gelding was ordered scratched after a pre-race veterinary examination..


Trained by John Sadler, Cost of Freedom won the grade I Ancient Title at the Sprint distance of six furlongs at Santa Anita in his most recent start. The son of Cee’s Tizzy has won six of 10 career starts and earned $344,152.
