Simon Named Secretary at Delta Downs

John Simon was named the new racing secretary at Delta Downs, which begins its meet Oct. 29. He replaces Trent McIntosh at the Louisiana racetrack.

Simon, 41, joined Delta Downs in 2006 as assistant racing secretary after working in a similar capacity at Canterbury Park for more than 10 years. He has also worked at Fonner Park, Hoosier Park, Tampa Bay Downs, and The Woodlands.

McIntosh recently accepted the position of racing secretary at Louisiana Downs after serving in his current position since 1998.

“I am thrilled to get the opportunity to work as the racing secretary at Delta Downs,” Simon said. “It’s great for me because Louisiana racing is on the rise and I really enjoy working with the people at this racetrack.”
