Woodford Racing will sell 14 of the remaining 4-year-olds from their first partnership group at the Keeneland November Sale Nov. 3-17.
Bill Farish of Woodford Racing said the sale of the horses is part of the group’s original business plan.
“Each year we do a separate partnership group and that group is finished at the end of the horses’ 4-year-old year,” Farish said. “Woodford Racing is a pure racing venture, and this is a normal course of events.”
Woodford Racing partnership I began with 27 horses but is now down to 14 due to horses being claimed on the racetrack and being purchased privately.
Included in the 14 horses that will be consigned by Lane’s End are: Sprung (Grand Slam-Springhurst), winner of the Natalma Stakes (Can-III); Quiet Action (Forest Wildcat-Whispered Wishes), winner of the Ontario Damsel Stakes; Legal Move (Bold Executive-Charity Country); and Approval Rating (Lemon Drop Kid -Classic Approval), winner of the Victoria Stakes.
Farish said there are 35 units in each partnership.
Woodford Racing purchased yearlings during the 2008 season that will make up Woodford Racing partnership four.
