European invader Sixties Icon, who has won three consecutive group III events in England, was installed as the 2-1 morning-line choice for the inaugural $500,000 Breeders' Cup Marathon Oct. 25 at Santa Anita Park.
The 1 1/2-mile Marathon drew a field of nine older horses and will be contested on the Santa Anita Pro-Ride surface. It is the first of nine Breeders’ Cup events Saturday and is scheduled to go to post 1:10 p.m. PDT.
