Indian Charlie, who was the highest-priced stallion at Brereton C. Jones’ Airdrie Stud in 2008, figures to remain the highest priced stallion at the farm for 2009.  He will stand next year for $75,000, up from $50,000 last breeding season.

Indian Charlie already has surpassed last year’s $4.8-million mark in progeny earnings. His 2008 runners have banked $5.2 million and include a dozen stakes winners that have won 22 added-money races. The group is led by multiple grade I winner Indian Blessing, last year’s champion juvenile filly, and other graded winners Indyanne, Mr. Nightlinger, and My Pal Charlie.

Thirteen-year-old Indian Charlie (In Excess—Soviet Sojourn, by Leo Castelli) stands for a syndicate at Airdrie, which is located near Midway, Ky. The farm will announce fees for its other stallions later this year.
