The National Racing Compact, formed in the United States last year, has extended its reach into Canada.
The Ontario Racing Commission has agreed to paricipate in the national licensing program, and will recognize the multi-jurisdictional license through reciprocity with no additional fees.
The National Racing Compact is an interstate compact recognized by the FBI and authorized by the participating states to review criminal history information and issue a multi-state license for participants in racing.
The license is recognized in Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. New York participates in the licensing program, but pending passage of state legislation, issues it's own state license. California's legislation has passed the state Senate and is the House.
