Edited NYRA release
Jockey Norberto Arroyo, Jr., who was taken to North Shore University Hospital after falling from his mount due to losing his irons in the fifth race at Belmont Park on Oct. 13, was released from the hospital later that night, according to his agent Michael Monroe.
Monroe said that though X-rays had revealed no fractures, Arroyo was reporting pain in his right foot.
“He’ll be icing that foot and he should be back in action real soon. He’ll probably take off his mounts on Thursday as a precaution, but hopefully he’ll be back in action by Friday,” Monroe said today.
Last Friday Arroyo won two races, his first since returning to riding after an approximately five-month absence spent dealing with family issues surrounding his father’s health.
