A full field of 11 has been entered for the $150,000 Cliff Hanger Stakes (gr. IIIT) on the evening of Oct. 10 at the Meadowlands, with graded stakes winner Icy Atlantic leading the charge for the 1 1/16-mile turf test.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, James Scatuorchio’s Icy Atlantic captured last year’s Red Bank (gr. IIIT) at Monmouth Park before going on to try the Breeders’ Cup Mile. In four starts this year, the 7-year-old Stormy Atlantic   horse has yet to see the winner’s circle, but last out was a hard charging second to Buffalo Man in the Red Bank. Icy Atlantic will break from post nine under Joe Bravo.

Drawing the far outside is Kiss the Kid, trained by Amy Tarrant. Kiss the Kid failed to fire last out when challenging Big Brown in the Monmouth Stakes, but prior to that the son of Lemon Drop Kid   was third in the Iselin (gr. III) and earlier this year third in the Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) and the Donn Handicap (gr. I).

New Jersey-bred Fagedaboudit Sal, who defeated Kiss the Kid in the Bob Harding Stakes at Monmouth July 12, is also a contender. Most recently, the 5-year-old son of Yarrow Brae was fourth in the Monmouth Stakes. Pedro Cotto Jr. gets the mount.

Shopton Lane and Arcata were entered for the main track only.

The Cliff Hanger, with a post time of 10:22 p.m. EDT, will go as the eighth race on a nine-race program.
