I Believe in You, who won last year's Hollywood Starlet Stakes (gr. I) in what turned out to be her final start, was retired from racing because of a problem ankle.
I Believe in You underwent surgery to remove a bone chip following the Hollywood Starlet and was off three months. She was returned to trainer Paul McGee around April 1, but continued to experience problems with the ankle.
Bred by Morgan's Ford Farm, I Believe In You (Pleasant Tap--I'll Get There, by Copelan) won or placed in all four of her starts, earning $244,270, for owners Mace, Jan, and Samantha Siegel.
