First Winners for Atticus and Devious Course

Grade I winners Atticus and Devious Course were represented by their first winners. Atticus' initial winner, Miss Atticus, won June 23 at 4 1/2 furlongs at Philadelphia Park in her debut. Bred by Ryder River Ridge Farm, she races for Gilbert G. Campbell. Millionaire Atticus (Nureyev--Athyka, by Secretariat) stands at Robert N. Clay's Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky.

Devious Course's first winner came June 22 when his son Las Devious won at 5 1/2 furlongs at Lone Star Park in his first start. The colt races as a homebred for Sandy Erwin. Devious Course (Crafty Prospector--Saucy Deb, by Mr. Leader) stands at Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Scharbauer's Valor Farm near Pilot Point, Texas.
