Aljabr, a Cartier Award winner, will stand in 2009 at Ascot Stud near Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. His fee will be $3,500 in Canadian funds.

A 12-year-old son of Storm Cat, Aljabr has sired 11 horses that have won or placed in stakes, including several 2008 stakes runners. A daughter, Northern Kraze, won the Wonder Where Stakes on grass at Woodbine, and a son, You Got Me Rocking, placed in the Del Mar Handicap (gr. IIT). Also in Canada this year, another son, Wollemi Pine, set a Woodbine track record and is twice graded stakes-placed there on turf.

For his career, Aljabr is represented by seven stakes winners and the earners of $3.2 million.

Aljabr, who earned his Cartier Award at 2, is out of French group I winner Sierra Madre (by Baillamont). He formerly stood at Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell Farm near Lexington.
