From the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana

The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana's yearling sale is scheduled to offer more than 300 horses Sept. 29 at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, La.

Some of the larger consignors include Clear Creek Stud, Elite Thoroughbreds/Summer Hill Farm, Red River Farm, McFadden Farm, Judice Farms, Circle H, Picket Thoroughbreds, and Ricky Courville, agent.

"The smaller consignors should not be overlooked as well," said Tom Early, sales coordinator for the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana. "With over 40 yearlings nominated to the Louisiana Stallion Stakes for the 2009 running, there are plenty of good horses in this sale. This year's catalogue is also one of the strongest with an abundance of black type within the first and second dams."

The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana will award a voucher of $250 to each purchaser of a yearling for a price of $10,000 or more during the sale.

"We are happy to support the buyers who make our sale a success," Early said.

All accredited Louisiana-bred foals of 2007 offered during the sale are eligible to be nominated to either the A.L. "Red" Erwin Memorial Stakes ($150,000 guaranteed, for colts and geldings) or the Elge Rasberry Memorial Stakes ($150,000 guaranteed, for fillies).

All accredited Louisiana-bred foals of 2007 offered during the sale also are eligible for the Bayou State Bonus. Any colt or gelding that wins the 2009 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile, the 2010 Crescent City Derby, and the 2010 A.L. "Red" Erwin Memorial Stakes will receive a $100,000 bonus at the completion of the final race. Any filly that wins the 2009 Louisiana Champions Day Lassie, the 2010 Crescent City Oaks, and the 2010 Elge Rasberry Memorial Stakes will receive a $100,000 bonus at the completion of the final race.
