Bold Truth, a grade II stakes-placed son of Seattle Slew, was represented by his first winner when his son Bold Captain won by 10 1/4 lengths Sept. 20 at Thistledown. A homebred for Dr. D.W. Frazier, the gelding ran the six furlongs in 1:12.54. He races in the name of Pyrite Stables.

An Ohio-bred, Bold Captain is out of the winning Magesterial mare Pyrite Captain and is a half-brother to stakes winners Bright Pyrite and Pay the Man.

Bold Truth, out of the Forty Niner mare Forty Nine Hearts, stands at Douglas Arnold’s Buck Pond Farm near Versailles, Ky. His 2008 fee was $3,500.
