Fasig-Tipton’s Midlantic division will not include a February mixed sale at Timonium in Maryland in its 2009 auction schedule.  The auctions that will remain on the calendar for Timonium are the sale of 2-year-olds in training in May, a fall yearling sale in late September/early October, and a mixed sale in December.

According to Midlantic sales director, Paget Bennett, past February sales have been lightly supported.

“Over the past few years, our numbers indicate a preference from consignors for our mixed sale in early December, which has proved a popular regional and national venue,” she said. “After our December (mixed) sale this year, we will use the break as an opportunity to renovate parts of the sales grounds and pavilion for our opening sale (of juveniles) in May 2009.”
