Oak Tree Sets Six Grade I Races Sept. 27
The Oak Tree Racing Association will card a record total of six grade I Breeders’ Cup prep stakes on Sept. 27. The Goodwood, Yellow Ribbon, Oak Leaf, Clement Hirsch Turf Championship, Lady’s Secret and the Ancient Title at Santa Anita will offer horsemen nearly $2 million in purses on what is believed to be the biggest Breeders’ Cup prep day in racing history. “We believe this will be the greatest advance showcase in the 25-year history of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships,” said Sherwood Chillingworth, Oak Tree executive vice president . “We are obviously expecting some of the best racing of the year and we fully expect that by running six consecutive grade one races, our ProRide synthetic main track will become synonymous with world-class racing and the Breeders’ Cup at Oak Tree. This day will be one to remember as history-making.”
