The International Cataloguing Standards Committee has announced upgrades for stakes in several countries. The committee announced the changes after its meeting June 18 in London.
In the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Duty Free has been upgraded from group II to group I, the Dubai Sheema Classic from group II to group I; the Dubai Golden Shaheen from group III to group I; the UAE Derby from group 3 to group 2; the Godolphin Mile from group III to group II; and the Maktoum Challenge Round III from group III to group II.
In Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Sprint has been upgraded from group III to group II.
The following races will be promoted in part one of the ICS booklet:
Japan -- the Takarazuka Kinen (group I status), the Keio Hai Spring Cup (group II), and the Mainichi Okan (group II).
Singapore -- the Singapore Airlines International Cup (group I), the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Sprint (group III), and the Singapore Cup (group III).
United Arab Emirates -- the UAE Two Thousand Guineas (group III), Maktoum Challenge Round I (group III), Maktoum Challenge Round II (group III), and Jebel Hatta (group III).
Members of the committee said the decisions rendered at the June 18 meeting were ratified by the Society of International Thoroughbred Auctioneers.
