Millionaire Champali’s first winner, Champ Laila, won Sept. 12 at Turfway Park. The filly captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by five lengths in 1:05.91 for Golden Shamrock Stable.

Bred in Kentucky by Mark Zamzow and Bob Procaccini, Champ Laila is the fifth winner from six foals of racing age from the winning Bet Big mare Valid Deduction.

Champali (Glitterman—Radioactivity, by Dixieland Band) stands at the Greathouse family’s Glencrest Farm near Midway, Ky. His 2008 fee was $7,500.
