Jockey Kent Desormeaux returns from Japan to ride at Hollywood Park on Sunday.
Jockey Kent Desormeaux will return from a 10-week stint in Japan to ride at Hollywood Park on Sunday. Included in Desormeaux's four mounts on the card is Astra, the Santa Barbara Handicap winner who will carry 121 pounds in the Beverly Hills Handicap (gr. IT).
The six-horse field for the 1 1/4-mile race includes defending champion Happyanunoit, the 122-pound highweight, and Irish import Kalypso Katie, an impressive winner of an allowance race on this course in her United States debut who sustained a minor knee injury during a fifth-place finish in the May 26 Gamely Breeders' Cup Handicap.
