(Edited press release)

Doors are set to open in January at Farnsworth Farms’ new equine sports medicine and rehabilitation center. Construction is in the final stages at Kesmarc Equine Rehabilitation, the horse therapy facility designed and dedicated to the recovery and conditioning of professional equine athletes.

Kesmarc-Florida is the sister facility of Kesmarc of Lexington, an established equine rehabilitation facility that offers horse recovery, fitness, and conditioning programs. Kesmarc is owned by Hub and Kirsten Johnson.

Kesmarc-Florida occupies 13 acres of Farnsworth Farms’ 426-acre property. The 100,000-square-foot facility will offer a 50-foot diameter indoor equine swimming pool, underwater treadmills, a vertical hyperbaric oxygen chamber, an indoor Polytrack, and climate-controlled stalls.

The visionaries behind the collaboration are business investors and father-son duo Robert and Myron Miller of Palm Beach, Fla.  The Millers conceptualized Kesmarc-Florida and chose the Ocala location because of its winter show horse events and warm weather.  Also, Ocala is home to more than 600 Thoroughbred farms and training centers.

"With Kesmarc-Florida and Farnsworth Farms, we’re proud to bring together two great names in the equine world to fill a need in the Ocala area,” said Myron Miller, vice president of business development.
