Rainmaker, a son of Storm Cat, came through with his first winner when Rainshine won Sept. 4 at Presque Isle Downs. A homebred for Paula Capestro, the colt captured the 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:06.21.
A Pennsylvania-bred, Rainshine is the first foal from the winning Buckaroo mare Sunshine Gwen.
Rainmaker, out of the grade I-winning Spend a Buck mare Antespend, stands at All Star Thoroughbreds near Sulphur, La. His 2008 fee was $1,500.
