Lady of Venice captured the 2007 Cash Call Mile.

Martin S. Schwartz’ Lady of Venice, who won last year’s CashCall Mile Invitational Stakes (gr. IIT) and placed in the race this year, has been retired from racing, according to Thoroughbred Daily News.

A 5-year-old, Lady of Venice won or placed in 10 stakes, nine of which were graded, following her arrival from her native France as a 2-year-old. She captured the 2007 CashCall over Precious Kitten when it was worth $1 million and the 2006 Regret Stakes (gr. IIIT) and Appalachian Stakes on grass in her first two U.S. starts. She also won the Ouija Board Distaff Handicap (gr. IIIT).

In addition to the 2008 CashCall, Lady of Venice placed in the Just a Game (gr. IT), Beverly D. (gr. IT), Matriarch (gr. IT), Jenny Wiley (gr. IIT), and Lake Placid (gr. IIT) Stakes.

Lady in Venice, who captured two of three races in France, won or placed in 14 of 16 races and earned $1,308,771. She was trained in the U.S. first by Patrick Biancone and then by Kiaran McLaughlin. By Loup Solitaire, she is out of multiple stakes producer Lacewings (by Forty Niner).

Lady of Venice will be offered by Meg Levy’s Bluewater Sales at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November mixed sale.
