Positive Trend Continues at Deauville While business was conducted on a lower scale during the third day of the Arqana yearling sale at Deauville in France Aug. 17, the final results maintained the upward momentum seen on the first two days. The 82 yearlings sold, from 104 offered, grossed 6,818,000 euros and averaged 83,146 euros. Their median price was 65,000 euros. In 2007, 75 yearlings sold for a gross of 5,119,000 euros, an average of 68,253 euros, and a median of 55,000 euros. John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed’s bloodstock advisor, paid the top price, going to 360,000 euros for a Verglas colt out of the Anabaa mare Hidden Silver. The grey colt, a full brother to the winner Silver Frost, was consigned by Haras des Sablonnets.
