Harold Queen's Burning Roma tracked pacesetter Junior Deputy early on and then drew off to a 9 3/4-length win in Sunday's $200,000 Leonard Richard Stakes at Delaware Park. Under jockey Rick Wilson, Burning Roma completed the 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.41 on a wet-fast track.

Marciano came home second as horses exiting the Preakness Stakes (gr. I) finished second, third, and fourth. Bay Eagle was a nose behind Marciano and 2 1/4 lengths clear of Griffinite. Junior Deputy finished last in the five-horse field.

Burning Roma paid $5.60 for the win as the 9-5 favorite. He earned $120,000 for his seventh win in 10 career starts. As a 2-year-old, Burning Roma won the Futurity Stakes (gr. I) via the disqualification of City Zip. This year he's won three of four starts including the Tampa Bay Derby and Sir Barton Stakes. Burning Roma (Rubiano -- While Rome Burns, by Overskate) was bred in Kentucky by William S. Farish Jr. (Chart, Equibase)
