(Edited press release)
Over the past year and a half, the Office of Racing Commissioner has pursued an extensive investigation regarding allegations of race fixing involving Terry Houghton and a number of other jockeys who were banned from racing at several tracks as a result.
At this point in time, the ORC has not found sufficient evidence to show that Houghton should not be granted a jockey's license. As such, the ORC has granted Houghton a license to race in Michigan at the new Pinnacle Race Course.
“Our investigative team has painstakingly researched the claims against Mr. Houghton,” said Gary Post, deputy racing commissioner. “At this time, we have decided to make the case inactive and granted Mr. Houghton a license.”
