First Winner for The Cliff's Edge
Grade I winner The Cliff’s Edge was represented by his first winner when his son Efficient Edge scored June 29 at Churchill Downs. The gelding ran the five furlongs in 1:00.01 to win by 5 1/4 lengths for Tom Simon’s Vinery Stables. Bred in Kentucky by Grapestock, Efficient Edge is the first winner from the stakes-winning Mt. Livermore mare Efficient Frontier. Winner of the 2004 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I), The Cliff’s Edge (Gulch—Zigember, by Danzig) stands for $10,000 at Vinery near Lexington.
