The California Horse Racing Board issued a complaint against Laurie Burnett-Nutter, the trainer of You Scare Me, which finished second in the ninth race at Los Alamitos Race Course on Feb. 4, 2001.

In a post-race urine sample taken from You Scare Me, Truesdail Laboratories reported the sample contained procaine, a drug substance prohibited under CHRB Rule 1843 from being in a horse participating in a race. Procaine is a Class 3 drug substance.

Michigan Department of Agriculture Laboratory confirmed the presence of procaine in the split sample taken from You Scare Me.

The Board of Stewards at Los Alamitos will hear the case on June 28.
