Big Brown's quarter crack on his left front hoof was successfully patched at noon June 6, according to hoof specialist Ian McKinlay.
"Everything looks perfect," McKinlay told the New York Racing Association's media department. "It's time to make history."
Big Brown (Boundary-Mien, by Nureyev) will run in the $1-million Belmont Stakes (gr. I) June 7, where he will try to become racing's 12th Triple Crown winner and the first horse to accomplish the feat since Affirmed did in 1978.
Richard Dutrow conditions the undefeated Big Brown for the partnership of IEAH Stables and Paul Pompa Jr.
