Safe in the U S A's First Winner

Short Some, from the first crop by Safe in the U S A, became the first winner for his sire when he won June 4 at Monmouth Park in his initial start.

Bred in Florida by Barry Weisbord and Margaret Santulli, Short Some won the 4 1/2-furlong race in :53.80 for Richard Santulli and George Prussin’s Jayeff B Stables. Short Some is the first foal from the Red Ransommare Bikini Ransom.

By Gone West, Safe in the U S A won five races and earned $178,350. He is out of sprint champion Safely Kept (by Horatius) and stands for $3,000 at Roy Lerman’s Lambholm South near Reddick, Fla.
