Rolbea Thoroughbred Racing’s 4-year-old homebred colt Finallymadeit won his ninth race at Calder and tenth overall when taking the $36,000 Memorial Day overnight stakes in gate-to-wire fashion May 26 under jockey Eduardo Nunez.

Trained by Javier Negrete, Finallymadeit (by Concerto) was trying a distance of ground for the third time in his career thus far and looking for his first win around two turns. The confirmed sprinter had won all of his previous races at shorter distances. The Memorial Day overnight stakes was 1 1/16 miles, and Finallymadeit covered the distance in 1:47.10.

Rehoboth was 3 1/4 lengths back in second, and it was another two lengths back to Voorhee’s Ballad in third.

Finallymadeit paid $4.60, $2.80 and $2.80; Rehoboth returned $3.40 and $2.10; and Voorhee’s Ballad paid $2.60 to show.
