Belmont Notes: Sen. Clinton to Present Trophy; Weather is Fine

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will attend Saturday's Belmont Stakes (gr. I). The senator will present the trophy to the winning connections of the third leg of the Triple Crown.

Other celebrities scheduled to attend the Belmont include Mel Brooks, actors Billy Zane, Ben Kingsley, and Michael Imperioli, New York Yankee owner George Steinbrenner, and super-models Maggie Rizer, Angela Lindvall, Erin O'Connor, and Karen Elson.

A field of nine will go postward in the Belmont, with a post time of 6:04 p.m. The race will be telecast by NBC Sports.

Meanwhile, there's good news for racing fans who favor a dry track.
According to the National Weather Service, the three-day forecast for Elmont, New York is for mostly sunny skies.
