Sophisticat, a Storm Cat filly sold last year for $3.4 million, broke her maiden Monday at Naas in Ireland. The juvenile filly is by Storm Cat out of champion Serena's Song.

At the 2000 Keeneland July yearling sale, two fillies sold for lofty prices. At $3.6 million, a Mr. Prospector -- Molly Girl filly was purchased by Padua Stables. Sophisticat, consigned by Craig Bandoroff's Denali Stud as agent for breeders Robert and Beverly Lewis, was sold to Demi O'Byrne for $3.4 million. She is owned by Michael Tabor.

Serena's Song's first foal is minor stakes winner Serena's Tune. She has a yearling colt by Deputy Minister and this year produced a colt by Storm Cat.
