It's baaaack. Starting Sunday, April 27, and running daily through Kentucky Derby day, May 3, The Morning Line returns to bloodhorse.com. The feature, first unveiled during the 2006 run up to the Kentucky Derby, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the participants and players of Thoroughbred racing during racing's major events.
Heading into the week on Sunday , Evan Hammonds, executive editor of The Blood-Horse
, will introduce readers to the colorful characters on the backstretch at Churchill Downs. As Derby fever heats up during the week, he'll be joined Monday morning by staff writer Claire Novak and the team will blanket the scene, not just on the backstretch, but the city of Louisville, as well at events like the Trainers' Dinner, the Post Position Draw at Fourth Street Live!, and plenty of parties.
The Morning Line is posted early each morning, and the blog/journal is constantly updated throughout the day with new entries including comments and photos of Derby participants, local interviews, and observations of contenders and pretenders.
