Roll Hennessy Roll not only came up with his first winner as a stallion, but his first stakes winner as well, when his son Bewild Hennessy won the April 19 Copper Top Thoroughbred Futurity at Sunland Park. Bewild Hennessy captured the 4 1/2-furlong race, worth $108,777 to the winner, by 2 1/4 lengths in :50.80 for owner Charles W. Hunter. The earnings vaulted Roll Hennessy Roll to the top of the first-crop sires list.

Bred in New Mexico by Michael Weatherly, Bewild Hennessy is the second foal and first winner out of the Wild Gold mare Betsy Bewild.

A graded stakes winner, Roll Hennessy Roll (Hennessy—Roll Over Baby, by Rollin On Over) stands for $2,500 at A & A Horse Ranch near Anthony, N.M.
