John T.L. Jones Jr.'s Walmac International has bought an interest in graded stakes-winning 2-year-old Leelanau. A son of Carson City, Leelanau set a track mark of 1:03.11 for 5 1/2 furlongs in winning the May 28 Kentucky Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. III) at Churchill Downs for David Clark's Iron Horse Racing. He is unbeaten in two starts and will remain with trainer Steve Morguelan.

"We look forward to making Leelanau an important addition to the Walmac stallion roster," Jones said. Walmac is located near Lexington.

Bred by Kidder, Griggs, and Mamakos, Leelanau is the second foal produced from the Kris S. mare Kris's Intention, who is a half-sister to grade II winner How About Now.
